Course Reflection

1) I think the thing that has stuck out the most to me was learning about satire literature. Though I am sure I have read books and seen movies            that use satire but I was not about to recognize it until now.

2) Unfortunately I did not really enjoy any of the books we read this semester. If I had to pick one that stood out more then the others I would have to pick a modest proposal by Jonathan Swift. Mostly because it was so strange and he proposed something so crazy that it made it more interesting,

3) As far as learning outcomes go I Think I managed most of the pretty well. But if I had to pick one that I think I learned the most about is interpreting and analyzing text and identify and evaluate multiple meanings and perspectives in language. In the past I have had to find the “hidden meaning” but I feel like in this class the books we read required me to look much harder and really pay attention to the details.

4) I don’t think that my writing process has necessarily changed except for the fact I have really realized that I need to make an effort to go back and revise and edit  my papers.

5) I think one of the biggest challenges I had in class this year was simply making sure I actually get on and do the work each week instead of putting it off or waiting till the last minute. Sadly it took a little long for me to consistently do that. Out of all the assignments writing the paper for white noise was the one that was the most challenging for me.

  1. Alexis,

I agree with you in saying that I did not enjoy reading any of the book this Semester. My reason being because I have no interest in it. Although your writing process hasn't changed, I think revising and editing papers is a huge plus for me too. Using the learning Center and tutors or even having my friends edit my papers helped a ton! Anyways, take care and have a wonderful Summer!
